What makes a massage effective?...
And with so many places and kinds of massage available, how do you know which is best for you?
We will assume your goals for massage are a mixture of pain relief and performance enhancement.
If you are one of the many athletes and active people of South Austin, you may be overwhelmed at all the options out there claiming to be the best choice for pain relief and performance enhancement.
You may have heard sports massage is best for you because you are a runner, or perhaps deep tissue massage is best because you lift weights. You might have been encouraged to seek myofascial release or neuromuscular therapy as the solution. Then again, that article about muscle scraping and ART (active release technique), sounded very convincing!
With so many options, how do you decide? Do you know what makes a good, therapeutic massage? Do you know what to look for?
There are many things you could look for, such as:
- Extensive knowledge of anatomy and functionality
- A holistic approach that goes far deeper than simple symptom treatment
- A track record of success (see our google reviews)
- The capacity to utilize non-massage modalities that can maximize results (aka movement)
- A library of resources to help you outside of sessions
- Education about how this issue originated, what went wrong, and what can be done to ensure it is corrected for the long term
At the end of the day though, what you really want is a massage that is both effective and efficient.
When a massage is both effective and efficient, it gets you the best results in the least amount of time, which means more value for your dollar.
With that being said, we hope you make the wise investment and book a massage here.
